We have returned to Honfleur - its as we left it

Its been a long day. I got dad to escort me to the woods at Abbey Wood, for my morning constitution, it was a bit wet under paw, but blue sky. Not many mates around, not sure if I was to late or early. But while I was busy sniffing for England, the motorhome chores were being done, loo empty, water dumping, window drying, and breakfast waiting. Then it was goodbye London hello France – bonjour

I dozed while we whizzed down the M20 to Ashford and the waiting train. In no time we were driving on the other side of the road heading towards – dare I say it – Rouen.
I kept my head down, as we glided down the A28, there were no raised voices, or load bangs, or expletives, so NO low bridges. In fact on the advice of so many fellow motorhomers we stayed well clear of the dreaded place of low underpasses and bridges. In fact the only dissent I heard was the fact that tolls seemed to be ahead of inflation (what ever that means) as €26 had been handed over to get the 170 miles to Honfleur.

I think tomorrow holds some excitement, as dad was aware of a blog posting about the Aire de Service, having no electricity or water, as it is winter. But we have to pay €7 to stay with no service. They intend to take me a walk via the Tourist Office to tell them the internet community is advising against staying in their delightful town, until they either turn on services or stop charging, lets see how the meeting goes !!

We would like to stay another day, but we need electricity (although its blue sky this morning so the solar panel is doing what ever it does. And of course water, they have showered today but I don’t want them smelling like stale humans . so were going to move on (will tell you where when they decide and let me know !!). It’s a pity as we all like Honfluer, its such a nice town with a brilliant range of restaurants and bars.

I smile, its 24 hours since we got into France, and guess where we are heading first --- clue ---- where can you get large supplies of wine ? Yes were off to the big supermarket to “Stock up” I think is their expression. Maybe there will be some room in the trolley for a morsel for me. So enough for now, will let you all know more, when we get our next internet access (maybe by what I hope is fun for a dog – FON – its their buss word this trip !!
