Where the hell are we?

Apart from being in the land of perpetual building – now I understand how the Spanish are the largest users of concrete in Europe. When there is no land to build houses on the build roads instead, Dad said the there are two words missing in the Spanish language – Architect & planning, and I see his point. Still the old buildings are interesting, even if all new build looks like it came in the same flat pack from Ikea. Which looks nothing like the site Camping Cubillas at Valladolid, which I describe later.

Well last night was a cold one, when we got up there was a hard frost everywhere. It’s always a shock when you go out side of Priscilla like that because she has such efficient hot air central heating. It had been ticking over all night and we were all very cosy, as it was a slow start to the day. Not sure our friends next us got on as they only had a small fan heater, and it was prone to blow the electric supply, first thing to do was watch a hot air balloon fly over head, blasting its burners. It looked like it was a tourist thing, with big adverts for Rioja , it must have taken off in the next field.

That, as it has turned out, is probably the highlight of the day, it was a routine drive, apart from a car in the middle of a field steam coming out of the front end, and the crash barrier flattened. It had just run off the road, did not look serious, it was on the other side of the motorway, the only thing was it was the only vehicle for a mile the road was so quite, still any thing is possible on Spanish roads, I think I hear “they’re mad” at least every half hour. Because of a new intersection right outside the site, Tom Tom was unable to direct us correctly, so just as well they can do it on their own, (I think they only have it on to laugh at the Spanish pronunciation –or lack of it).
Just such a mess everywhere

Dad did have Spanish radio on for a time to get his head into Spanish, he says listening to some local radio lets him start speaking and understanding better. Just as well cus they can only just do Spanish at the site (If you can call it that !) it’s the most expensive we have done so far, a total of €22.42 (including €1.60 for me – I will make sure I use every tree to get my monies worth) but it looks like a large scrap yard. As usual there are hundreds of construction of awning, caravans, sheds, leantos’, poles, bins and assorted junk that make up the permanent camp spots for the locals as a weekend and holiday destination. During the winter it just looks a dump, when its all in use and been washed down maybe its better, but we will NEVER see if it is! To get this uploaded we are going to the bar – yes its open all year, as is the restaurant – as they call it, thank god dads cooking as usual – I’ve only just got rid of a bad tummy.
We hope he takes this aerial down before towing it.

So the plan is chill out tonight, take Priscilla to the car wash area before we leave (have to get every thing out of the fee!) and move on further south tomorrow, I just hope they don’t take as long as the \Swiss guy next to us, who spent about 3 hours doing his caravan (yes parked next to a tugger) we think he was cleaning it with a tooth brush, or was being careful not to rock it to much so as knocking the cuckoo clocks of the walls inside. And that coming from a Swiss myself, I’ve just been lucky and never been there.

PS: was checking my spam folder on my email account after being notified that I won the Irish lottery, and all that I needed to do was send my name and occupation – do they think us dogs are stupid? They should know we don’t play the lottery on holiday. Anyway here is a view of my “spam” folder for leopoldonholiday@btinternet.com in which I found some very interesting mail sent to me. Click on the picture of my screen to get the full size shot. Now I never thought they would bring out products for us dogs, as offered in these messages. I don’t think I will dwell to long as you become paranoid about things, and I don’t want to think I cannot make her scream, when the time comes !
What will they e.mail to a dog in future ?
