Lets give it a miss !

As we leave paradise , the area looks even more impressive. We did meet an English couple at the site that have been coming to this area for years and it was their “secret place” and we understand why. We were going to stop half way to Seville in Merida, but when we got to the site, we had a look, even tried to use the restaurant/bar, but decided it was one of those sites best missed, at this time of year. So it’s a big journey day – and its eventful as usual. The electronic box got a slapping, but then it was decided it was not his fault. If Spain is not building homes / offices / factories, its building roads, so how can anything keep up with the work. The new motorway, was Tom Toms choice and he Had been told it was open, BUT as we know not always correct. I am sure details have been given by Spanish departments that this is their roads NOW. They are not so dads say this is not new and in Spain its “follow your own nose” more than maps that are out of date for almost everywhere in the country.

We took in the countryside; the vista changed every 30mins, rugged and rocky, green and lush, mountain and clear. The vast plateaux’s of central Spain are just amazing, even the soil changes from sand yellow to red mahogany, the scene is first Pine then Olive, the Oranges - fields of them and every street lined with them, you know your in the Med now!

Alan was getting a bit drained with the drive, and when your just within 5km made the wrong exit, and ended with an extra 9km on top to reach destination – and wasn’t I glad, (have you seen a dog with his legs crossed !!)

Now its different, instead of being the only campers on site there a dozens of us, its looks like a motorhome rally. We park up under a orange tree – where else, and sort ourselves out. There had to be a tiff. Alan went into reception to ask if they had a map so we could get our bearings _ NO. But when Guy went in later to ask about the local transport he was given a map. I am sure I could smell dead flesh during the night !!

So it’s a change, it’s a city site , but quite pleasant, and everyone is friendly (apart from the missing receptionist) and there are quite a few mates on site too, so I am more than happy. Lots of planning going on so lets see what we are doing tomorrow.
