Playing on the beach in late afternon sunDads have asked me to include a thank you into today’s blogs. A big thank you to Lynne and Debbie back in Fulbeck. During the gales over the last couple of days, it appears that the greenhouse decided to take a walk about. Its made of light polycarbonate, and the wind lifted the whole thing and bits of it flew in all directions, They rounded up the bits, and arrangements are being made to get it put back together again, our life in their hands, thanks for looking after us.
The journey today, again on the wonderful easy French roads with almost no traffic, was to take us to La Rochelle – Ile de Ré. And there was a big synchronized sigh as they saw their first vineyard, and to make sure they feel content we are parked up right next to a field of vines. I keep asking if we will ever see a field growing my favorite Jumbo Chews, I am sure they must come from somewhere like their wine.
With a glass of bubbley "wish you were here"?during the afternoon, to check that the site was open that the washing machines, the WiFi was ok, and that I would be welcome, Yes to every question. Deja vue, we arrive and Guy goes to reception to check in. A big smile as he walks back and I know that smile. The WiFi is a bit iffy, so not sure if we will be able to log on. Yes I am welcome, but the washing machines are not in service, so instead of two nights here we will only have one. There are so few camping businesses that provide what they advertise; in fact dads say that most are in the last decade, but at this rate we will be on politics or religion next so : stop we are on holiday.
